Youngset’s Junior Class is led by Teacher Emily and has a learning atmosphere filled with fun, enthusiasm, and imagination. 

Learning takes place throughout the classroom. Children move freely about the room to explore the learning stations. Teachers and parent helpers are always near by to answer the children’s questions, to help expand thinking and play and simply listen.

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

A Typical Day in the Junior Classroom

10:25-10:45 am

Hand-washing and snack.

Parent Helpers arrive and receive instruction for the morning.

8:45 am

Arrival and greeting. Children are free to explore activity centers in the classroom and the workshop is open. Children may go between classrooms as they choose. Helpers assist with dramatic play, blocks, arts & crafts, and games.

9:00-9:20 am

Free Choice. Learning centers in classroom available as well as the crafts and imaginative play opportunities in the Workshop.  Parent helpers assist with dramatic play, blocks, arts, crafts and games. 

9:20-10:05 am

Circle Time. Parent helpers are introduced. The days activities are discussed and important information is shared.

10:05-10:25 am

Prepare for Outdoor/Gym. Children clean up and put away their snack items. This is a good time to check in to see if children need to use the bathroom.

10:45-11:00 am

Outdoor/gym play.

11:00-11:45 am

Goodbye Circle. Time to wind down from our day, thank each other and helpers for a good school day. Helpers assist lunch bunch students with handwashing while Teacher Emily handles pick up for those going home.

11:45-12:00 pm

Optional Lunch Bunch hour ($10).

12:00– 1:00 pm
