A Place to Play, Learn & Grow

Youngset offers play-based preschool programs for children ages 2–5, with options designed for different ages, stages, and family needs.

Across every program, children are given the space to explore their interests, build relationships, develop independence, and learn through play in a warm, engaging environment.

Bright, Beautiful Spaces Designed for Curious Young Minds

Facilities

  • Youngset offers three classrooms, each serving a different age group.

    • Youngsters Classroom: 10 children ages 18 months to 3 years old (until eligible for Junior Class)

    • Junior Classroom: 15 children ages 3 and 4

    • Senior Classroom: 17 children ages 4 and 5

  • The Workshop: An additional space for crafts and imaginative play. Throughout the year this room is decorated as the following: fire station, castle, holiday workshop, rain forest, grocery store, pet hospital, outer space and student-led themes.

  • Playground: This is Portland and we enjoy playing outside in all weather, rain or shine with the appropriate gear.

  • Gym: Children enjoy a variety of scoot bikes, basketball hoops, tumbling mats and other activities.

Youngsters

Youngset now offers Youngsters, a once-a-week parent-and-me class created especially for younger toddlers who aren’t quite ready for preschool on their own. Children and their grown-ups spend two hours together in the Youngset classroom each Tuesday morning, with plenty of time for child-led play, creative activities, movement, and exploration. With a parent or caregiver by their side, children can become familiar with the classroom, teachers, and Youngset community at their own pace.

Enrichment Programs

Various enrichment events are hosted at the school throughout the year. All families are welcome to attend the enrichment events even if their child is not enrolled on the day it occurs. Some past examples of these special events include:

  • Fire Truck Visit

  • Singalongs

  • Alpaca Visit

  • Portrait Drawing

  • Baby Goats Visit

  • Dentist Visit

  • Optometrist Visit

  • Yoga

  • Nature Walk

  • Paper Making

Food Allergy Policies

Your child's safety is our top priority. Youngset currently implements a NUT FREE policy that extends to snack time and lunch bunch.

  • Snack time and Lunch Bunch: This is an important part of the preschooler’s day. It is a time to socialize and make connections. Nutritious snacks that give children sustained energy to play are preferred. The children drink water at snack time, which is brought from home in a water bottle. Water bottles may be refilled in the classroom. Please ensure all lunch boxes and water bottles are labeled with the child’s name. All items should be NUT FREE.

  • Birthdays at Youngset:  To ensure the safety and well-being of all students, Youngset has a no food policy for birthday celebrations. Many students have food allergies or dietary restrictions that can pose serious health risks, even with minimal exposure. In an effort to create an inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environment for all, we kindly ask that families do not send or bring any food items (including cupcakes, candy, or treats) to school for birthday celebrations.
